Held at the Omni Dallas Hotel at the Convention Center, the theme of this conference was “Better Video Production”. More than 85% of online users watch videos and this event focused on how to create effective videos that people want to watch. Our Dallas conference attracted 75 A-List travel and media professionals to Texas. Repeat sponsors such as Disney Parks & Resorts, Orlando Convention and Visitors Bureau and Omni Hotels & Resorts joined Southwest Airlines, Dallas Zoo, FCUSA and Snowmamas to connect with the family market.

Speakers
Genevieve Shaw Brown is the Travel & Lifestyle Editor for ABC News. In this role, she writes for and manages all content for the ABCNews.com Travel section and writes for the Good Morning America web site. Genevieve acts as ABC News’ travel expert across all platforms including ABC News Radio, ABC News One, Good Morning America and World News with Diane Sawyer. She’s the host of an original travel series that airs on ABC News Now and on ABCNews.com. Before joining ABC News, she was the editorial director and national media spokesperson at Travelocity for nearly five years. In that role, she served as the on-call travel expert for every network in the nation and has conducted thousands of travel segments for such outlets as the Today Show, Good Morning America, Fox and Friends, MSNBC Live and CNBC. She has also worked at Independent Traveler and Shermans Travel.
Wendy Perrin is Condè Nast Traveler’s Director of Consumer News and Digital Community and writes the magazine’s practical advice column “The Perrin Report.” A noted authority on consumer travel issues featured on TV, in print and online, she writes an award-winning blog, tweets to more than 89,000 followers, and raises two sons in the New York City area.
Rob Burgos has been editing and doing post production finishing work since 2000. Using Avid Media Composer, Avid Symphony Nitris DX, Davinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, and Color, Rob has worked on projects ranging from industrials and commercials to TV shows for Morgan Stanley, Food Network, Cooking Channel, PBS and HBO. In addition to running a full service post production facility, he enjoys being a part of the creative team on “Lidia’s Italy in America” for PBS and teaching Avid Editing in the Continuing Education School at New York’s prestigious School of Visual Arts. Rob earned his MFA in Communications at the New York Institute of Technology where he made many videos, and still lives in the city with his wife and 3-year-old daughter.
Christi McNeill serves as an online Spokesperson for Southwest Airlines, the nation’s largest airline in terms of domestic customers boarded. Christi specializes in Social Media Communications.
In addition to her online media relations duties, Christi works as the “voice” behind the Southwest Airlines Twitter account (@Southwestair) and Facebook Fan page. She is also a moderator and blogger on Nuts About Southwest (www.blogsouthwest.com) and manages the Southwest Airlines corporate Pinterest page. She intimately understands the reach of the media and has been the author of several successful story placements creating positive buzz for Southwest Airlines. She’s been featured in the New York Times, mashable.com, and USA Today as a communicator that “gets it.”
A Texas native, Christi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.

TV host and travel content provider Valarie D’Elia maintains a family tradition begun by her great grandfather in 1902 when he founded D’Elia Travel in Connecticut. After broadcast studies at the University of Miami followed by a Master’s Degree from Columbia Journalism school, she transitioned into television with a five year stint at The Travel Channel. Today she travels the world as a one-woman production unit, shooting, writing, hosting and editing segments for Time Warner Cable stations including her long-running segment on NY1 News. Other credits include NBC’s “Today Show,” MSNBC and WOR Radio. She is also creator of travelwithval.com a video-driven website of travel news and deals.
Melanie Nelson is a social media trainer and consultant who has been helping businesses market online since 1995. She recently wrote Facebook All-In-One for Dummies. Her website, Blogging Basics 101 (www.BloggingBasics101.com), has been featured on Mashable, as well as Hubspot’s list of “10 Amazing Blogs About Blogging to Start Reading NOW”. Her newest venture, Summit Integrated Media (wwwSummitIntegratedMedia.com), offers online and in-house social media and blogging training. Melanie is also a freelance author and editor for John Wiley & Sons Publishing.

Kaleel Sakakeeny, Travel Editor/Manager for Technorati Travel, is the CEO of New Media Travel (NMT) which provides multimedia travel content to the travel industry. She frequently speaks at conferences around the country about how to engage and connect with people.
